Introduction
Since the beginning of civilization wine has been a source of pleasure to mankind. wine is one of
the first things man created. The fermentation of grapes and grape Juice into wine is a natural
process that has been enjoyed by man for thousand of years. New world winemaking combines the best knowledge and experience from the old world with ground breaking technology careful planning and audacious experimentation.
Since 1975 when the first commercial vineyard (Saad Garden) was established in Agar (Khore), there has been no looking back and today Junnar is Maharashtras (India) Top quality Grape growing region.
All is not doom and gloom though as Sahyadri mountainous terrain and unique climate offer many benefits. grapes can be left to ripen on the
vine for longer than usual. thanks to drysunshine filled autumn days, low summer humidity checks fungal infection, cool winter temperature kill of any latent bugs and disease.
Owing to the complex geography of the valley a number of sub-appellations have been established in recognition of some very localized
region perhaps the most famous region of all is the sloping seam of alluvial land which runs along part of the side of the kukadi river.
WINE MAKING
Suitable grapes are the first indispensable key to success in making wine and especially distinctive high quality wine “Great wines are made in the vineyard” Only hand picked grapes from our own vineyard are used for our wines each block being vinified separately to allow subsequent blending options our wine making aimed at retaining rather than
enhancing these characteristics. allowing a frame work for each wine to develop and evolve in bottle to provide a wine with complexity and interest. Everything that is man made can be copied or imitated only the natural environment can provide a genuine sustainable point of difference it is the interplay of location topography soil and climate that allows a country
to stand apart from all others
